Autism

Amanda Baggs is autistic, she is also a noteworthy voice in the autism rights movements.

I first discovered her clip on YouTube, first portraying a severally disabled autistic woman, followed by a most eloquent monologue thanks to text to speech technology.

She also keeps a blog where she describes her life, as well as her thoughts on disability and autism in particular.

Her more blunt retort and counter to stigmatization and institutionalization can be found here.

As far as I can tell, this is a very much a real person making one hell of an effort to reach out as well as set things straight.

Recommended reading to anyone touch by or simply interested by the Autism spectrum.
